Length of Time CrossFitting: Officially 9 months (I started doing some CrossFit-type workouts about two years before joining CFB)
Favorite Lift/Movement and Why? Anything involving barbells. Cleans, deadlifts, and front squats are my favorites these days. I like barbell movements because there is a lot of technique that goes into them, and the moment you finally get it right after lots of practice feels so great. Can’t wait to see that happen for my snatch.
Favorite Workout/Type of Workout and Why? I like DT because it has my favorite lifts. I like AMRAP workouts because there is an unknown component in them, and sometimes you might surprise yourself.
Goals for the Next Year? Where to begin! It’s a super long list … but on top of it improving my snatch, pull ups, and hand stands.
How has CrossFit Impacted your Life? This is the strongest and fittest I have ever been in my life. I have achieved fitness goals in time frames I had never thought possible. But I think the impact goes well beyond improving my fitness. I feel like I am more disciplined in all aspects of my life. Also, challenging myself in doing things that are outside my comfort zone on a daily basis has had a huge impact on building confidence and courage in facing any challenge/challenging task in life. A big part of credit for my positive experience goes to CFB coaches and CFB community. Seeing all the hard work put in by everyone and the support and encouragement for one another is truly inspiring. I am happy that I am a part of this amazing community.
